I always do things on the spot! When painting animals in nature, I spare no
pains in smelling, chasing, capturing, and touching them. Once, when I was
filming a grizzly bear, I held a machete in my left hand while I focused my
camera in my right hand, all while staring the bear down. Whether facing a
grizzly bear in Hokkaido, or a venomous serpent in Okinawa, drawing animals in
their own habitat in the wild is often life-threatening.
